The agreement
AfterNine ("AfterNine", "we", "us") operates a curated platform connecting professional models, agencies, casting directors, photographers, and brands. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and AfterNine, Inc., registered at 14 rue de Castiglione, 75001 Paris, France.
By accessing the platform, creating a profile, or initiating a booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction, and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
Accounts and verification
All members are subject to identity verification before profiles are made visible. We may request government-issued identification, agency representation papers, professional references, or portfolio samples. Verification is not automatic and may take up to ten business days.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@afternine.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person; duplicate accounts will be merged or removed.
- Profile information must reflect the represented person — not stylised personas, fictional identities, or third parties.
- Photographs uploaded must be works to which you hold appropriate licensing or model release.
Bookings, payments and cancellations
Bookings are arranged directly between Members through the AfterNine platform. AfterNine facilitates the connection, holds funds in escrow when requested, and issues invoices on behalf of represented Members.
Standard cancellation terms are listed in each Member's profile. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following platform-level rules apply:
- Cancellation more than 72 hours before the booked call-time: full refund minus a 4% platform fee.
- Cancellation between 24 and 72 hours: 50% of the agreed fee is non-refundable.
- Cancellation within 24 hours, or no-show: 100% of the agreed fee is due.
Force-majeure events — illness with documentation, government-imposed travel restrictions, or significant safety concerns — may waive these fees at our discretion.
Conduct and community standards
AfterNine exists because of the trust between its Members. Behaviour that violates that trust — harassment, discrimination, misrepresentation of credentials, fee-skimming, off-platform poaching of relationships introduced through AfterNine — will result in immediate suspension or termination, at our sole discretion.
We reserve the right to remove content, restrict accounts, and decline future applications without prior notice when, in our reasonable judgement, the continued presence of an account harms the platform or its Members.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights to images, text, and other creative material you upload. By uploading, you grant AfterNine a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that material on the platform, in marketing materials with attribution, and in editorial features published by the AfterNine Journal.
The AfterNine name, logotype, the 9-mark, all custom typefaces commissioned for the platform, and the visual layout of the directory are property of AfterNine, Inc.. Reuse without prior written consent is not permitted.
Liability
AfterNine is a directory and a facilitator; we are not party to the contracts agreed between Members. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — shall not exceed the platform fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be lawfully limited, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Termination does not relieve you of obligations accrued before closure — outstanding invoices, refunds owed to other Members, or content takedown notices in progress.
We may terminate your account with or without notice if we believe you have materially breached these Terms, repeatedly received serious complaints from other Members, or used the platform in a manner inconsistent with its editorial standards.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion shall be referred first to mediation through the Centre de Médiation et d'Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP), and failing settlement, to the competent courts of Paris.
